Waste recovery division

VTE Recyclage is the Research and Development centre of the VTE Group, created to assist with the recycling and recovery of composite tanks for CNG or H2 that have reached the end of their lifecycle.

European Directive 2000/53/EC dated 18 September 2000 on End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV), which is to be extended shortly to heavy goods vehicles, coaches and buses, sets targets for the reuse, recycling and recovery of spare parts and materials.

Our aims

  • To recover noble materials (carbon fibre and fibreglass) which are currently destined only for landfill at the end of their life cycle
  • To support the CSR initiatives of the VTE Group’s partner companies
  • To partner with ELV centres in the depollution of NGV vehicles
  • To supplement energy transition in road and passenger transport by integrating waste

Our NGV vehicle depollution services cover CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) and LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) tanks.

We carry out all depollution operations either on site, at the operators’ premises or in approved ELV centres:

  • degassing the tanks by burning or transferring the NGV
  • removing the tanks if necessary
  • neutralising each tank and sealing them permanently
  • regulatory administrative procedures for withdrawing tanks from service.

Our ambition:

  • To create the No. 1 centre in France for the deconstruction and recovery of composite pressure equipment, alongside key players and eco-friendly waste management organisations.

  • To be a key player in the technology for recovering carbon fibre and composite materials from tanks

  • To contribute to the CSR approach of manufacturers by recycling gas and/or hydrogen tanks and by reusing the composite materials contained in tanks

Become our partner
